- Public TitleRefinement of rehabilitation strategies in patients with COPD.
- Scientific TitleThe effect of specific exercise training on endurance in depleted and non-depleted patients with COPD compared to regular exercise training.
- ACRONYMPopeye
- hypothesisStrength training followed by endurance + strength training is the most optimal training training regimen for depleted patients with COPD. Periodization of endurance and strength training is the most optimal for improving endurance in non-depleted patinets with COPD.
- Healt Condition(s) or Problem(s) studiedCOPD
- Inclusion criteria1. Depleted and non-depleted patients with COPD;
2. FEV1<50%pred;
3. FEV1/VC<70%.
- Exclusion criteria1. Comorbidity that impacts exercise tolerance;
2. Inability to perform an incremental exercise test or to participate in exercise training;
3. Investigators uncertainty about the willingness or ability of the patient to comply with the protocol requirements.
