- Brief summaryIntroduction:
Increasing activity in nursing home resident is currently receiving a lot attention and new interventions are developed for this purpose. Preferably, those interventions should be meaningful to nursing residents and geared with their environment. Therefore, it is important to gain insight into the preferences and wishes of nursing home themselves with regard to (movement related) activities.
A method using a photo-interview has been developed to investigate those preferences and wishes. (Dutch: Methodiek ter Inventarisatie van Betekenisvolle Beweegvoorkeuren van Ouderen, short: MIBBO). Based on the results of the MIBBO a tailored activity plan can be drawn.

Aim:
To test the feasibility of a tailored activity plan based on the MIBBO in nursing home residents.

Population:
Ten nursing home residents from different wards (physical and/or psycho-geriatric complaints) will be recruited. Residents must minimal be able to move one upper extremity for reaching and grasping and to participate (with support of spouses) in a (photo)-interview.

Design:
The MIBBO will be used to retrieve the whishes and preferences of nursing home residents with regard to (movement related) activities. Based on the results of the interview the tailored activity plan activity plan will be drawn. The activity plan will be monitored for four weeks. Feasibility and first effects of the tailored activity plan based on the MIBBO will be investigate through interviewing residents and nurses and observations.
