- Brief summaryOsteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most prevalent joint disorders of the world and is a public health problem. Although OA prevalence is highest in elderly, a trend has occurred towards the working age group. However not much is known about the influence of OA on work participation. In addition also not much is known about the work participation of people after total hip or knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) due to OA. For that the purpose of this observational study is to explore the influence of OA and consequently THA/TKA on workparticipation in Dutch patients suffering form end stage OA, between the age of eighteen and sixty-three years, and having a paid job.
