- Brief summaryThis randomized controlled trial takes place at the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg, The Netherlands. All participants are recruted at the Preoperative Screening. Included are surgerypatients at daycare centre over 18 year old, receiving full anaesthetics, ASA 1. Excluded are patient with CVD, mental diseases, visual and hearing impairment, not understanding Dutch language. 200 particpants are at random blinded allocated to the preoperative music intervention or the controlgroup.
Primary outcomes: coping, state and trait anxiety, bloodpressure, heartrate and skintemparature.
Objective: to compare preoperative musicintervention with a control group receiving care-as-usual and the role of coping.
