- hypothesisHypothesis A: We expect a decline in measured musclemass during the initial days of hospital admission, also we do not expect hydrational changes to be of great influence on estimated muscle mass. Hypothesis B: We expect that the time of the day on which bioelectrical impedance measurements are executed does not significantly influence estimated results. Hypothesis C: we expect only a crude correlation between clinically estimated hydrational status, estimated serum osmolality and measured serum osmolality

- Inclusion criteria- acutely ill frail elderly patients admitted to the geriatric ward of the Orbis Medical Centre or placed under the care of a geriatrician. - Frail elderly (Fried score >2) - Expected to be able to aquire at minimum of four independent measurements.

- Primary outcome- Changes in measured muscle mass - Changes in measured extracellular water - Changes in measured intracellular water - Influence of catheter or IV fluid on measurements - Correlation between these changes
- Secondary outcome- influence of nutritional changes/meals on measurement of musclemass - Correlation between clinically estimated hydrational status, estimated serum osmolality and measured serum osmolality.
