- candidate number2071
- NTR NumberNTR688
- ISRCTNIncomplete info for ISRCTN
- Date ISRCTN created
- date ISRCTN requested
- Date Registered NTR25-apr-2006

- Public TitleThe Kennemer Healthy H(e/a)ART Study
- Scientific TitleDeterminants of arterial stiffness in subjects with HIV infection receiving HAART.
- ACRONYMHealthy H(e/a)ART
- hypothesisHIV infected patients receiving HAART have an increased risk for cardiac events/disease. In HAART naive patients increased arterial stiffness is substrate for this higher risk. In this study we investigate whether increased risk for cardiac events in HAART using patients is also (partly) due to an increase in arterial stiffness.
- Healt Condition(s) or Problem(s) studied
- Inclusion criteriaPatients, male and female, 18 years and older, receiving or just started HAART therapie without cardiac arythmia.
- Exclusion criteriaCardiac arythmia.

- Target number of participants120
- InterventionsPeriferal arterial pulsewave velocity registration, non invasive.
Additional bloodanalyses, taken from patient at time of routine perferal blood draw pre visit outpatient clinic.
- Primary outcomeIncrease in pulse wave velocity.
- Secondary outcomeIncreased velocity (thus increased stiffness) related to glucose, lipidspectrum and inflammation parameters?
